WestConnect has developed a FERC Order 1000 compliant regional planning process covering generally the area shown below.

WestConnect’s regional planning is overseen by a Transmission Owner and Stakeholder based Planning Management Committee. The WestConnect regional planning process consists of seven primary steps as outlined in the diagram above. In addition to the planning steps shown for the WestConnect regional planning process, WestConnect has arrangements with California ISO, Columbia Grid and Northern Tier Transmission Group for Order 1000 compliant interregional coordination.
WestConnect’s regional planning process is biennial in nature beginning in even-numbered years. Certain aspects of the process may require activity in the years before and after any given planning cycle.
