CCPG - Colorado Energy Plan Task Force (CEPTF)

The Colorado Energy Plan Task Force (CEPTF) is a short-term planning forum to provide information to stakeholders regarding the Public Service Company of Colorado (PSCo) 2016 Energy Resource Plan (ERP) and Colorado Energy Plan (CEP). About every four years, PSCo files an electric resource plan with the Colorado Public Utility Commission (PUC) to evaluate future electric demand and to determine the generation resources best suited to meet that demand.

The 2016 ERP was filed in May 2016. In August 2017, PSCo filed a stipulation with the PUC, asking to expand the ERP to include the retirement of Comanche Units 1 & 2 coal-fired generation in Pueblo, Colorado, and increase the amount of renewable generation to meet the deficit created by those retirements. PSCo Transmission Planning intends to perform transmission studies to evaluate the retirement of the Comanche units and explore the capability of the PSCo transmission system to accommodate additional generation.

The CEPTF will provide the forum for PSCo to inform stakeholders of the results of those studies.
